Welcome to your virtual sanctuary
Your dedicated Black therapist in Texas.

If you have ever sat in a therapy room and felt like you had to shrink your personality, explain your cultural baseline, or defend your exhaustion, I want you to know: that is not how healing is supposed to feel.

As a Black therapist in Texas, I founded Bantu Roots because I saw a massive gap in how traditional psychology treats marginalized communities, especially high-functioning professionals, leaders, and sensitive teens. We are so often pathologized for our survival skills. We are told our systemic burnout is just a "mindset issue" that can be fixed with a few positive affirmations or better time management.

My clinical philosophy is entirely different. I operate under the firm belief that your lived experience is completely valid, that systemic barriers are very real, and that true therapy requires yielding clinical power back to you. I am not here to analyze you from a distance or give you a checklist to "fix" your life. I am here to act as a collaborative partner—helping you map out your inherited protective armor, process the accumulated fatigue of carrying heavy spaces, and safely learn how to put that armor down.

"You are not broken; you are carrying heavy systems. My job is not to fix you, but to help you put the armor down so you can finally breathe."

My Clinical Foundation as a Black Therapist in Texas

Healing is a deeply sacred process, but it must also be backed by rigorous, evidence-based care. I utilize proven psychological frameworks, heavily modified through a culturally humble, anti-oppressive lens, to ensure your care is both safe and clinically sound.
